Public Health Priority Setting

Stoneham and Associates has developed numerous public health plans and policies for local governments which have integrated policy and organisational reviews, local evidence, community consultation, priority setting and plan development. We are currently working with two regional local governments supporting them to develop Public Health Plans.
Our team has been working with Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and agencies to plan healthy and functional housing policy in regional and remote communities.
We work across sectors to develop prevention plans for communities to promote all aspects of wellbeing.

Research and Evaluation

Examples of recent Stoneham and Associates work includes:
  •  Development of a workforce model to integrate Aboriginal Environmental Health Workers into the NT ACCHS sector.
  • Published a Healthy Ears Storybook with UTS that identified community led and strengths based programs to promote healthy ears and reduce otitis media in young Queensland Indigenous children.
  • Worked with NGOs to develop community based alcohol prevention plans.
  • Developed and supported guidelines in WA and Victoria for a local government wide approach to reducing alcohol related harm.
  • Evaluated a WA wide trachoma prevention.
  • Consulted with diverse communities to provide data for community safety plans, physical activity plans, disability and inclusion plans, public health strategic plans and healthy living programs.
  • Trained over 70 professionals on the links between disease risk factors and house design, and the importance of providing key hygiene messaging to tenants.
